The roles of sketch maps and resulting figures on physics education are introduced. The course of thermodynamics and statistical physics is regarded as an example, we modify several faulty figures in the present textbooks. The dimensionless, scale and region of parameters are discussed. It is necessary for students to plot the figures of theoretical and numerical results, and then the change law of resulting curves should be analyzed.

By introducing the Hermite polynomial operator and deriving its normally ordered expansion, we derive the wave functions of particle number state in the coordinate representation and momentum representation, respectively, which can directly lead to the Fock representation of coordinate and momentum eigenstate. Our way is brand-new and concise.

The normal frequencies and its corresponding normal coordinates and conjugate momentums for a three-body coupled pendulum quantum system is derived in terms of the invariant eigen-operator method. With Hamiltonian of the system decoupled, the visible analytic solutions of normal frequencies in the system are obtained. The analytic solutions of exact wave function of the system in coordinate representation are deduced. Whereas, when calculating the Hamiltonian containing mechanical quantity with invariant eigen-operator method, the three power and more than three power terms of system Hamihonian are very intricacy.

The applications of numerical simulation in "the principle of lasers" are discussed. The progress from pumping, relaxation oscillation, gain saturation to steady output of the three-level system lasers is posted by numerical solution of the rate equations based on ruby lasers. The procession of self-reproducing mode formation is demonstrated based on diffraction theory and Fox-Li iterative method. Numerical simulation makes abstract theoretical equations to be concrete, which helps students understand basic concept and increases the ability of solving practice problem for the students.

In view of the importance of the resistor network model and the 3×n-step resistor network is still not fully resolved, this paper discusses the equivalent resistor of 3×n-step diagonal resistor network. By establishing the network's differential equations model in terms of network analysis, we resolve this differential equations through matrix transformation. Depending on the boundary conditions, a beautiful, general formula for the diagonal resistance of 3×n-step diagonal resistor network is proposed.

The symmetrical transformation of the Fraunhofer diffraction for two-dimensional aperture is discussed by using superposition of the complex amplitude. For apertures with certain shape, symmetrical transformation of the Fraunhofer diffraction amplitude is introduced to derive the intensity distributions of diffraction from known results. The intensity distributions of diffraction patterns are also simulated by using Mathematica soft.

    Abstract ( 649 )   PDF (367KB) ( 259 )

A detection method of optical rotation measurement for small angle is proposed by the analysis of output signals. Two kinds of light signals are detected in the experiment. One is detected, after it is sent through the optically active solution and modulated by Faraday coil. The other is just modulated by Faraday coil. By measuring the width of the waveform of these signals, the optical rotation can be obtained. Meanwhile, based on the already built system, sugar solutions with different concentrations are prepared for measurement. The experimental results show that there is a good linear relation between the solution concentration and the optical rotation. The goodness for linear fitting is up to 0. 998. The resolving capability of optical rotation can reach 0.01 degree.
