Abstract: The layer exploring - progressions tests is diagnosed and applied in the teaching practice of electromagnetics. In the case of teaching method，three different types of exploring-progressions tests are applied in diagnosis or study of students' misconceptions process so as to effectively product teaching idea of taste thought， layer-progressions，situation-inquiry during teaching practice.
