Abstract: Y S Chiong, L C Tsien and Y S Chow studied in University College London successively from 1930 to 1940, researched fluid mechanics and solid state physics respectively under the guidance of the same director, i. e. , E. N. da C. Andrade, a British physicist and achieved significant results. The academic achievements during the study abroad had a major impact on their later achievements and contributions, and also promoted the development of China＇ s physics.
