Abstract:  In this work, LabVIEW is utilized to simulate a reflectron time-of-flight (TOF) mass spectrometer, and to conduct virtual experiments to investigate the main factors that affect the resolving power of the spectrometer. Such virtual experiments should be helpful for students to understand the working principles of a TOF mass spectrometer quickly. In addition, it also stimulates students’ interest in learning and cultivates their sense of creativity.
