Abstract: As a special optical field carrying orbital angular momentum, vortex beams have demonstrated significant application potential in optical manipulation and optical communication in recent years. While reflection and refraction represent the most fundamental optical phenomena in nature, vortex beams exhibit unique reflection and refraction mechanisms distinct from conventional light. This review article first presents the fundamental concepts of vortex beams, then analyzes their distinctive phenomena during reflection and refraction, with particular emphasis on the theoretical mechanisms underlying the vortex-induced additional Goos-Hnchen shift and Imbert-Fedorov shift. Finally, we conclude with a prospective outlook on the potential applications.
