Nuclear technology and nuclear safety is a highly practical subject and experimental teaching is the key link of the training of students major in nuclear technology. The current situation of the traditional nuclear technology experiment teaching is introduced，and the features and advantages of the application of virtual instrument in nuclear technology experiment teaching are also presented in this paper. An experiment system used in the position sensitive detector teaching is developed based on LabVIEW in our lab，indicating the feasibility of the application of virtual instrument in nuclear experiment teaching.
