According to the Biot -Savart law， the theoretical basis of the distance measured by the magnetic field of loop coils is proposed，and a range finder based on the magnetic field of loop coils is designed and made.The experimental results have about error within 5% when the measuring distance is in the range of 15 ～ 40 cm，which can basically achieve the design effect.
