Optical whispering gallery modes possess ultra-high quality factors and small mode volumes, making them an important platform for fundamental optical physics and photonics research. However, common optical WGM microcavities often have mirrored invertion symmetry, which limits the utilization of their polarization degrees of freedom and thereby restricts their ability to distinguish chiral materials. In this article, we introduce chiral materials into the microcavity, and analyze the polarization property of the WGM. We also establish an effective finite-element-method framework to simulate chiral material, providing a powerful tool for chiral photonics research.
