Abstract: An analogue model for gravity black hole, the acoustic black hole, is introduced. The analoguemechanism is shown from the aspects of both geometrical acoustics and physical acoustics. The definition of acoustic black hole and its structure are introduced. The important developments in history of the study on acoustic black hole are reviewed. The difficulties in both theory and experiment of today＇ s research on acoustic black hole are analyzed. We also give an outlook for the further research on the acoustic black hole.
