Using Helmholtz resonators to measure sound velocity based on smartphone

摘要: 本文详细介绍了亥姆霍兹共振的基本原理,设计了一种可以在非实验室环境下完成的声速测量实验,使用算数平均及数据拟合两种数据处理方法对测量结果进行验证,相对误差分别为3.0%和2.8%,并分析了测量过程中声音的频谱分辨率对于共振腔大小的限制. 该实验所需的器材在生活中容易获取,可用于学生居家或课外自主实验项目.

Abstract:  The Helmholtz resonance principle is delved in detail. A sound velocity measurement experiment is designed that may be done outside a laboratory setting. The measurement results are verified by using two data processing methods, arithmetic average and data fitting. The relative errors are 3.0 percent and 2.8 percent, respectively. The experiment equipment is readily available in everyday life and can be utilized by students for autonomous experiment projects at home or outside classroom.
