Abstract: In view of the limitations of traditional falling ball method for measuring liquid viscosity coefficient, a simulation experiment is designed based on Matlab GUI. The simulation experiment intuitively gives the motion of the ball in liquid, and provides four experimental modules, such as the influence of liquid temperature on viscosity coefficient, the realization of infinite extension condition, the uniform falling starting point of the ball with different diameter and the viscosity of different liquid used in daily life. Combined with the real experiment, three learning parts are also designed in simulation experiment, from experimental preview, experimental operation to experimental examination. At the same time, the simulation experiment also allows the operator to change relevant parameters to explore the physical laws about liquid viscosity coefficient, and to automatically analyze the experimental results and visually generate the relationship of experimental variables.
