Abstract: Using the theory and methods of the inverse problem in Lagrangian mechanics, two kinds of equivalent Lagrangian functions of a classical particle with zero-total force are obtained. These Lagrangian functions depend on time, the radius vector and vector velocity of the particle, but need not be a function of magnitude of velocity only.
