Abstract: The roles of sketch maps and resulting figures on physics education are introduced. The course of thermodynamics and statistical physics is regarded as an example, we modify several faulty figures in the present textbooks. The dimensionless, scale and region of parameters are discussed. It is necessary for students to plot the figures of theoretical and numerical results, and then the change law of resulting curves should be analyzed.
