Abstract: Based on the ellipsoidal coordinate,the spacial distribution of electric potential of a coated ellipsoid in a matrix is investigated by solving the Laplace equations under the boundary conditions.Furthermore,the equivalent permittivity of a coated ellipsoid is obtained.
