Abstract: The conventional vacuum thermal evaporation is modified to fabricate CdS/ZnS core/shell heterostructural nanowires.Firstly,CdS nanowires are synthesized by catalyst-assisted vacuum thermal evaporation.Then,ZnS shells ard deposited on the CdS nanowires by the secondary evaporation.Investigations by XRD,EDX and TEM demonstrate that the cores of the heterostructural nanowires are single crystals of CdS and the shell of ZnS are polycrystalline.The method presented here is facile and the heterostructures have potentials is nano-devices.
