Abstract: We extend a simple exercise in a textbook and find rich physical information by studying nonlinear effect of the system under consideration. The non-typical beat phenomenon and the abrupt change in tension are the most noteworthy results. We analyze these results, investigate the factors that lead to them and point out the drawbacks of the original model through simulating calculations.
