Abstract: The collision process of two identical elastic spheres is theoretically investigated. The maximum impact force, the average impact force and the impact time are studied based on the theoretical analysis. Subsequently, the conclusions are popularized in the collision of a sphere with semi-infinite block. The numerical simulations for the collison of two identical elastic spheres ,as well as collisions between elastic spheres with different radii and semi-infinite block, are performed. The mumerical results are in well agreement with the theoretical and experimental results.
