Abstract: The theoretical models of Debye for dispersive media,of Drude and Lorentz for the electrical conductivity are surveyed. The dielectric property of the left - handed material is discussed using lossy Drude＇s model. It shows that different model based on different physical mechanism is suitable for different kind of dispersive materials in practical use.
