Abstract: A brief biography of Edwin Herbert Hall is recounted. The discovery course of Hall effect which Hall experienced under the guide of Prof. Rowland is reviewed. The important part which Hall and Rowland played respectively in the research is analyzed, Hall＇s rigorous style and perseverance is stressed.
