Abstract: The Michelson interferometer configuration in the optical experiment is modeled using the ZEMAX software. The multiform layouts of the configuration lead students to make up a clear image of ray path. Time-dependent simulation of phenomena in the experiment is realized by using the ZPL program, which makes students hold exactly phenomena in the ideal condition. The influence of error from different aspects and different magnitudes on the interference pattern is analyzed by altering primary parameters in the configuration. The conclusions should be instructive for students to adjust optical instruments effectively and correctly.
