Golf ball range under both drag force and Magnus force

摘要: 对实际中有旋转的高尔夫球运动进行了分析.通过数值计算表明,粗糙球比光滑球飞得远.球的自转会产生Magnus力,对射程有显著的影响,但球的旋转并非越快越好.

Abstract: The movement of a golf ball against air with spinning is analyzed. The numerical results show that a golf ball with dimpled surface flies much farther than one with smooth surface. Magnus force which generated by the ball's spinning prolongs the range,but a too fast spinning rate is not always conducive to the range.
