Studies on the vibration modes of a finite periodical string-ball chain

摘要: 用实验和数值模拟的方法研究了一个有限周期性弦球链系统的振动模.观察到了振动谱的带状结构,表面态模.考察了表面态模的振动频率与第一个小球距弦端的距离τ的关系.用离散差分法对该弦球链系统作了数值模拟并对实验和数值模拟结果作了简单讨论.

Abstract: The vibration modes of a finite periodical string-ball chain are studied with both experimental and calculation methods. The vibration spectrum of the system appears band structure and the surface states could be observed in band gap. The eigenfrequencies of the surface states are measured and calculated for different distances τ from the start of the chain to the first ball. A brief discussion is given for the observations and calculations.
