摘要: 以红宝石激光器为例,对三能级系统的速率方程进行了数值求解,揭示了激光器从泵浦、弛豫振荡、增益饱和到稳定输出的过程.利用光的衍射理论和Fox—Li迭代解法,演示了自再现模的形成过程.采用数值计算可以使抽象的理论公式具体化,增强学生对基本概念的理解,同时提高学生处理实际问题的能力.

Abstract: The applications of numerical simulation in "the principle of lasers" are discussed. The progress from pumping, relaxation oscillation, gain saturation to steady output of the three-level system lasers is posted by numerical solution of the rate equations based on ruby lasers. The procession of self-reproducing mode formation is demonstrated based on diffraction theory and Fox-Li iterative method. Numerical simulation makes abstract theoretical equations to be concrete, which helps students understand basic concept and increases the ability of solving practice problem for the students.
