傅里叶级数的物理具象化课程设计

Substantialization of physical pictures in Fourier series

摘要: 傅里叶变换是“数学物理方法”课程的前半部分——复变函数中的重要内容,而复变函数重在讲授数学知识,学生容易形成此课内容抽象且与物理无关的认知.本文以傅里叶变换的基础,即傅里叶级数展开为例,通过其与日常生活及常见物理问题直接结合的例子,直观呈现其物理图像,即“具象化”其中的物理,既能加深学生对数学知识的理解,提高学习兴趣,又能让课程内容与专业知识直接衔接,让学生以图像为抓手掌握数学知识,以便在本课程的后续内容以及后继课程中灵活运用.

Abstract: The first half of the course of methods of mathematical physics, complex functions, is mainly mathematical background technically needed for the second half. Students tend to take it as abstract and irrelevant with physics. Using Fourier series as a demo, it is shown how they directly treat problems in everyday life and physics. Presenting it in physical scenarios, i.e., substantializing the physics related, helps students essentially understand it. More importantly, this will directly connect the Fourier transform with major physics, and give students command of mathematics via physical pictures, which favors flexible applications of them in subsequential courses.
