Abstract:  In this paper, an innovative teaching exploration of the course, introduction to acoustics, is presented. The teaching methodology employed in this course revolves around three dimensions: fundamental knowledge, acoustic expanded knowledge and intriguing acoustic phenomena in daily life. The course assessment is based on students research presentations. Illustrated with examples such as architectural acoustics and acoustic metamaterials, the expanded content of acoustics in multidiscipline is shown. Furthermore, captivating acoustic phenomena is introduced, such as why singing in the shower sounds pleasant, the concept of a singing road, and the phenomenon of a whispering gallery. Lastly, the theme of students research presentation using ultrasound elastography is highlighted as an illustrative case. This comprehensive three-dimensional teaching approach resonated strongly with students during the instructional process, deepening their understanding of the subject matter and nurturing innovative thinking and capabilities.

Key words: acoustics, theoretical and practical teaching methods, multidisciplinary teaching exploration.
