Abstract: The great contribution of the Michelson's interferometer in physics and the development condition in biomedical imaging technology are introduced. From the development process of Michelson's interferometer, the principles and Characters of optical coherence tomography and its applications in biomedical imaging, physics / and materials science are discussed, then the spectral optical coherence tomography is compared with Fourier transform spectrometry. At last its significance in teaching is discussed.
