Abstract: An X-band waveguide model for experimental demonstration of power transmisson by beamed microwave was developed. Based on that, the principles of xenon lamp and microwave sulphur lamp and their application to illuminate solar panel in laboratory are simply introduced, some parameters of a specific silicon solar panel providing power for microwave generator are described, microwave in the model is produced by a gunn diode and its correct usage is indicated, an expression to estimate electric field of a cylindrical horn in Fresnel region is given and the dependence of transmission efficiency of two identical rectangular horns on distance is shown, mechanism of microwave semiconductor diode is explained, the experimental results of several point-contact silicon diodes are summarized.
