Based on Fresnel diffraction theory, the diffraction field of a spherical wave through a plane transmission grating is studied in detail. The amplitude distribution of Fresnel diffraction and a calculation formula for Fresnel diffraction angle of a grating are given. The waves in each order of Fresnel diffraction are spherical waves under ideal conditions. The diffraction angles can still be given by the grating equation of Fraunhofer diffraction after Fresnel diffraction angle is redefined.

The curve shape of the X-ray diffraction line is derived by considering the difference of absorption between different crystal plans. The exact expression for the curve is obtained, which is different from that of the interference function calculated from the grating diffraction used to describing crystalline diffraction. Our result is varified by compare the theoretic expression with experiment data. As a result, the deviation between them is less. It is therefore verified that the absorption of the X-ray is a main factor for affecting the shape of the diffraction line.

Using modern digitization technology, magnetic fields produced by current loops and a current-carrying solenoid are successfully digitized and visualized. It shows the importance of digitization in physics teaching because the magnetic fields in space are traditionally beyond fundamental physics. Additionally, it enriches the teachable contents of electromagnetism and improves students' ability to challenge practical problems.
