Standing wave method for measuring Young's modulus and its error analysis

Abstract: Using the standing wave theory,we propose a standing wave method for measuring Young's modulus.The method controls deformation of wire artificially and measures basis frequency of wire to obtain its tension and then Young's modulus.In comparison with traditional methods,the standing wave method avoids measuring diameter and deformation of the wire,thus,it is easy to operate.Furthermore,its uncertainty is mainly ruled by the micrometer precision.Hence,the method has high accuracy.
