Evaluating students' prior knowledge to promote introductory physics instruction

Abstract: Students' prior knowledge comes from every aspect of their actual process of learning.Students may have at least three different conditions of prior knowledge of the to-be-learned physics concepts.In order to get a reasonable evaluation of the initial state of the students,we should know their conditions of prior knowledge first.This is very important for introductory physics instruction.
