Abstract: While the reciprocating record method is used in some college physics experiments, most of the textbooks do not explain why use it or give vague explalation. Some even use this method in a few experiments which should not use it. This may arise some problems in practical teaching and is unfavorable to cultivating students＇ scientific spirit. The paper studies on this problem.
