A general formula for calculating unilateral constraint release point in arbitrary smooth curves in vertical plane and its application

Abstract: A general formula is derived to calculate unilateral constraint release point of the motion process in arbitrary smooth curves by differential equation of motion and the law of conservation of mechanical energy in rectangular coordinate system. It is used to study the constraint curves with quadratic function, cubic parabola, sine curve, hyperbolic sine curve and ordinary cycloid.
