Abstract: The propagation characteristics of plane electromagnetic wave in left handed materials （LHM）are simulated using MATLAB. The numerical results indicate that the intensity of electric field decrease with the in- crease of propagation distance,and the energy attenuates. In the teaching of college physics and electromagnetics, the visualizing abstract concepts of electromagnetic fields can not only help students to understand the application in various fields,but also inspire students interesting and improve the teaching result.
