Abstract: By adding and reducing weight to silicone cylinder,axial elongation and transverse elongation are measured by using the stretching method. We get stress- strain curve,three different definitions of the Young＇s modulus,Poisson＇s ratio and stress- strain hysteresis loop of silicone. The experimental method is simple,the measurement is easy and the conclusion of data analysis is more. This will be some practical value and significance to university physics experiment teaching and related research.
