Abstract: It is pointed out that there are some obvious and implicit errors in the article entitled “Heat capacity being zero as temperature approaches zero cannot be used as a statement of the third law of thermodynamics”. Moreover, it is concisely proved that the Nernst statement and the heat capacity statement are mutually derevible and can be used as two equivalent statements of the third law of thermodynamics.

Key words: Nernst equation, Nernst statement, heat capacity statement, the third law of thermodynamics
