Abstract: The deductive teaching method of electromagnetism guided by Maxwells equations was discussed, including the following contents. Equation (Ⅰ) leads to contents such as electric flux, electric field intensity, Gausss theorem, and electric field energy. Equation (Ⅱ) guides the characteristics of work and energy of the electrostatic field and electromagnetic induction. Equation (Ⅲ) leads to contents such as magnetic flux, Gausss law for magnetic fields and BiotSavart law. Equation (Ⅳ) leads to contents, including the Ampere circuital theorem, energy of a magnetic field and displacement current. Teaching practice has shown that this teaching method can enhance the understanding of Maxwells equations and increase the organization of electromagnetism knowledge.

Key words: electromagnetism, Maxwells equations, electric field, magnetic field
