Entangled coherent states are a type of important continuous-variable entangled states in the processing of quantum information. However,it is complicated to calculate their entanglement due to the non-orthogonality of basis vectors in the representation of coherent state. We propose a construction method of a set of complete and orthogonal bases for two-mode entangled coherent states, and simplify the calculation of their entanglement. And also, the entanglement of several typical entangled states is calculated and discussed.

The behavior of polarization and spin density of polarized light waves propagating inside an anisotropic medium is considered.Differing from the light in an isotropic medium, the polarization states and helicity eigenstates of the light waves will evolve in the anisotropic medium. The evolutional spin densities of both the circularly and the elliptically polarized light waves have been calculated, and the effects relevant to the polarization state evolution have been analyzed. An optical analog of Einstein-de Haas experimental scenario has been suggested in order to test the angular momentum transfer between light waves and anisotropic media.Such evolutional states of light would find potential applications in the field of quantum information.

By taking relativistic effect into account, the elastic collision between two particles with equal rest mass, one of which is initially in the stationary state,is studied. It is shown that in the case of central collision, two particles will exchange their speeds after collision, which is the same as the result obtained based on the classical mechanics. However, for the case of non-central collision, the included angle between the speeds of two particles after collision is a sharp angle, which is different from the result obtained based on the classical mechanics.

An instrument for measuring the viscosity of a liquid is designed by using the forced vibration of a spring oscillator.A direct-current motor drives a steel ball to vibrate in the measured liquid.A Hall sensor is used to measure the vibration amplitudes and resonance frequencies of the steel ball. The viscosities of the castor oil and glycerol with the different temperatures are measured by the use of the instrument, respectively. The experimental results show that the relative errors between the measured values and theoretical values of the castor oil and glycerol under the temperatures from 23℃ to 29℃ are less than 3%.This measurement method has advantages of higher accuracy,no oil-pollution,obvious resonance, clear physical principle and good teaching effect.

The electrical and magnetic properties of the perovskite La 2 /3 Ca 1 /3 MnO 3 are measured at the same time,in which colossal magnetoresistance and mechanism of double exchange are found.Transitions of insulator metal and paramagnetic-ferromagnetic are observed simultaneously,so interactions of electrical and magnetic in those materials are understood more easily.

In the microwave Bragg diffraction experiment, the reason why singular peak is caused by the opening angle of emission horn on simulation crystal(100) surface has been analyzed.Because microwave emitted by horn is not strictly plane wave, there exists a critical grazing angle when Bragg diffraction happens. When the grazing angle is less than the critical angle, receiving horn can not only received the crystal surface reflection wave, can also receive directly microwave emitted by horn, their coherence stack arises singular peak. The grazing angle corresponding to singular peak has been calculated, and it is consistent with the experimental data.

With the development of laser cooling and trapping atoms techniques, atom optics,a new filed in physics, has gradually come into being based on the researches on properties of the cold atoms, interaction between the cold atoms and matters, the manipulation of the cold atoms and their application. However, atom optics has not been systematically introduced to the undergraduates majoring in physics and the other involved sciences as an important part of the modern physics. In this paper,we first brief the development of atom optics and analyzed the necessity to construct this curriculum for undergraduates.Subsequently, the teaching contents of atom optics and the corresponding teaching plans are suggested and discussed according to the teaching requirements of colleges and universitses for undergraduates.

The entanglement of two-particles Heisenberg XXZ chains with different Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya(DM) interaction is investigated.By means of negativity, the entanglement is calculated in detail as a function of the different parameter. We find that the entanglement will not be always enhanced by the increase of DM interaction. The critical temperature when entanglement disappeared varies with the different parameters J z and DM interaction. The entanglement as a function of magnetic field shows different properties for different x or z-component DM interaciton. Moreover, the entanglement can be controlled and enhanced by varying the distributions of the impurities, the strength of external magnetic field and the DM interaction.
