Finite-size effects in ideal quantum gas
    . 2010, 29(2):  1-1.
    Abstract ( 731 )   PDF (252KB) ( 310 )

Based on the Euler-MacLaurin formula, the expressions of thermodynamic quantities of a finite-size ideal quantum gas are derived and the effects of the size of the system and the shape of the boundary are revealed. It is shown that the finite-size effects result in several novel characteristics such as the non-extensively of the system, the anisotropy of the pressure, and so on, which are different from those obtained under the thermodynamic limit condition.

The dynamic behavior of two-dimensional logistic system and the fractal characterization of strange attractors
    . 2010, 29(2):  21-21.
    Abstract ( 837 )   PDF (472KB) ( 369 )

The dynamic behaviors of the two-dimensional logistic system are analyzed and the fractal characterization of strange attractors is researched. By using phase maps, bifurcation graphics and Lyapunov exponent, the paper reveals the transition of two-dimensional logistic system from regularity to chaos. By using G-P algorithm, the correlation dimension and Kolmogorov entropy of strange attractors are calculated, so the fractal characterization of strange attractors is described qualitatively. By using escape time algorithm, the color general Mandelbrot-Julia sets of strange attractors are construeted, so the fractal characterization of strange attractors is described quantitatively. The results show that the fractal characterization of strange attractors is explained clearly when these methods are used altogether.

The scheme that the holographic real image is shot and reconstructed with normal and collimated laser beam is put forward. The experimental results suggest that the qualities of the holographic real image can be im- proved by using normal and collimated laser beam for shoot and reconstruction. In addition, the holographic real image is displayed in different scattering media, respectively, and the one meeting requirement is determined.

Two unexpected phenomena got from the experiment ' torsion pendulum of free and forced rotational oscillations using the Poht resonance equipment are analyzed. Mechanicl damping and nonlinear effects of coil spring are found to be mainly responsible for the unexpected phenomenon. Furthermore, unstable driving fre- quency under some conditions can be the possible explanation for the second unexpected phenomenon. The linear dynamical equations are modified to become a nonlinear equation whose numerical solution explains the unexpected phenomena successfully.
