Abstract: In order to make the parallel computing capability of the light and the realization ways more clearly for the students during the optical computing course teaching, we propose a simple teaching demo experiment. The optical core of the experiment is a 4 × 4 optical vector-matrix multiplicator, which consists of some pieces of LED arrays, photoelectric diodes and lens. The demo experiment lays out the basic function and make up of the parallel optical computing system, which are helpful for excite the interest of the students in learning the course.
